Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant

Location: Remote, Nationwide

As we continue to grow our business, we have an ongoing recruitment need to meet our service level agreements across the country for Vocational Rehabilitation and Disability Case Management services. We are looking for individuals with experience in:
•    Absence Management
•    Adjudication 
•    Counselling 
•    Disability Management
•    Human Resources
•    Injury Management 
•    Psychology 
•    Vocational Rehabilitation 
•    Transferable Skills Analysis (TSA) testing 

Duties include but are not limited to case management for all of our sponsors in the public and private sector:
•    Adjudication based on legislation and contractual agreements
•    Alternative treatment options
•    Healthcare navigation 
•    Illness
•    Liaison with medical providers, unions, and employers 
•    Managing sick leave
•    Mental Health
•    Physical injury 
•    Return to work (RTW) coordination and monitoring 
•    Short-term and Long-term disability assistance 
•    Transferable Skills Analysis (TSA) testing

Qualifications and Competencies:
•    Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (e.g. psychology, social work, social sciences, disability studies, vocational counselling,          rehabilitation counselling, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, kinesiology, etc.)
•    Eligibility for or possession of one or more of the following: CVRP, CCRC, RRP, RVP, CVE, CCVE, ICVE, CDMP, CRWC, RTWDM, Canadian Certified Ergonomist. Maintain professional membership and credentials. Maintain professional liability insurance
•    Working knowledge of vocational/psychological assessment tools, labour market/employment trends, vocational rehabilitation principles/practices, disability management, budgeting, and various computer applications
•    Excellent Listening skills
•    Delivery of timely, professional and responsive service to clients
•    Strong planning, organizational and multi-tasking skills
•    Analytical and demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and make decisions
•    Strong professional communication skills (both written and verbal)
•    Strong interest in customer service and interaction with policy holders
•    Demonstrated ability and flexibility to work with multiple stakeholders
•    Ability to work in a team environment and independently
•    Knowledge of the medical field (asset)
•    Experience in dealing with Mental Health Claims (asset)
•    Manage rehabilitation expenditures
•    Work with external community providers
•    Utilize effective mediation/persuasion skills
•    Establish and maintain collaborative professional relationships with stakeholders
•    Complete vocational assessments and transferable skills analysis
•    Provide vocational counselling and other customized services
•    Provide job search support services and participate in job development activities
•    A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel (applying Covid-19 protocol, government and health officials’ guidelines)
•    Must have/be eligible for Vulnerable Sector Screen and/or Federal government clearance
